Privacy & your data

Duvenn is built so that the least possible amount of information about you exists anywhere. This page explains exactly what that means. Last updated 11 August 2026.

The short version. Your private answers are never shown to your partner. Your story isn't kept unless you choose to save it — everything else is deleted automatically within 48 hours. We never ask for your real name, we have no photos, and you can erase everything with one tap.

What we hold, and for how long

While you're playing: the display name you type (anything you like — it doesn't have to be real), whether you told the game you're a man or a woman, your private preference answers, and the current state of your story. This is held only so the two devices can stay in sync and so a refresh doesn't lose your night. It is deleted automatically within 48 hours.
Only if you choose "keep our story": your email address, and a record of each saved session — which scenario, how many beats, which ending, the seed you planted, and which themes you explored. This is kept until you delete your account.
Anonymous usage counts: events like "a story began" or "a story ended", with no identifier and no story content, so we can tell whether the product works. These cannot be linked back to you.

What we never hold

The text of your stories. Scenes are generated live and are never written to our database.
Photos, video, voice, contacts, or location.
Your partner's answers on your device, or yours on theirs — the overlap is computed on our server and only the shared result is ever returned.

Sensitive data, and your explicit consent

Preferences about your sex life are "special category" data under UK/EU data protection law. We process them only with your explicit consent, given when you complete the private calibration, and only for the single purpose of running the game you asked for. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account, which erases the data.

Who else is involved

xAI generates the story text. Each request sends only the structured context of your scene — never your email, never your account, never a way to identify you.
Supabase hosts our database and functions. Cloudflare serves the site.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking services. There are no third-party trackers on this site and we have never sold or shared personal data.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or erase your data, withdraw consent, or object to processing. The fastest route for erasure is the "Delete my account and everything in it" button on the save screen — it removes your account, sessions, map and seeds immediately and irreversibly. For anything else, email and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU/UK you may also complain to your data protection authority; in Ireland that's the Data Protection Commission.

Age

Duvenn is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. All characters in every story are fictional adults. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 18; if you believe we have, email us and it will be deleted.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Preference answers can only be read by our server, never by another player's device. Story snapshots are locked to a per-room key and purged on a 48-hour cycle. No API keys or secrets are present in anything your browser downloads.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and the notice appears in the app before you play again.
